5回目は、経営学部グローバルビジネス学科講師・ポーランド出身のマリア・スペラタ先生です！

Q. どんな授業？

「日本史＆国際関係学」
I specialize in Japanese History and International Relations. I share the social problems of the present day and the past with my students. I aim to show different points of view from the outside world and initiate discussions in my classes.
I also encourage my students to articulate their personal opinions.

日本の歴史と国際関係を専攻。
過去から現代までの様々な社会問題を異なる視点から接し、学生と一緒に会話を導いています。
自らの考え方を明確に伝えられるように指導しています。

Q. 先生の経歴は？

I graduated from the University of Economics in my hometown, Cracow in Poland. I also studied business and management abroad in Gent, Belgium. Both of these cities have rich cultural history and a unique heritage. That’s why I feel very comfortable in Kyoto, the old capital of Japan.
I am affiliated with an old ochaya-san in the heart of Gion Kobu and before the pandemic, I worked there as an interpreter and culture expert for international tourists.
During my stay in Europe, I worked at a big corporate office and managed digital marketing campaigns for the Spanish, Canadian, and Polish markets.
I have also been teaching English and basic Japanese for around 7 years now. Besides that, I have been exhibiting my knowledge about the Kyoto geiko culture at two museums in Belgium and the Netherlands, in cooperation with a Dutch photographer, Paul van der Veer and I’m now working on my own book.

ポーランドにあるクラクフ経済大学卒業後、ベルギーに渡り経営管理を専攻。
過去にはヨーロッパ系の会社でスペイン、カナダ、ポーランドなどの市場にむけたデジタルマーケティングの管理者として勤務。
コロナ前には、京都で外国人観光客に対して通訳や日本文化ガイドをしていた。
日本語と英語の授業を始めて今年で7年目。現在はオランダ人フォトグラファーの Paul van der Veerさんと共に京都の芸妓文化を研究中。

I believe that every single person is like a unique universe, equally worthy.
It’s important to understand our history and heritage to understand the future. Even if the past is dark, there is always a light of hope at the end.

私は人それぞれユニークな価値観を持っていると信じています。
未来を理解するには、我々の歴史や文化を知ることがとても重要であって、例えいろんな過去があったとしても最終的には必ず希望が訪れるのです。
