Study in Dazaifu (Fukuoka), a major historical cultural center

Fukuoka is an International city of 1.5 million people that has been chosen as the Most Livable City in Asia by Asia Week magazine. Fukuoka Campus is located in Dazaifu to the south of Fukuoka City. Dazaifu flourished in the 7th century as a political center, and this ancient town is also renowned for Tenmangu, the shrine to the god of leaning, to which 650,000 visitors come each year. It is in addition home to large numbers of temples and shrines, and to the Kyusyu National Museum. The center of Dazaifu can be reached on foot from the campus, and from the campus it is a 15-minute train ride to the center of Fukuoka city itself.
