中世のイギリスに、誕生の歴史があるイングリッシュガーデン。その真髄は、自然を愛 し、自然とともに生きる思想をもとに、人為的ながらも自然そのものを創出し、草花に囲 まれた空間と時間のなかで、人間本来のゆとりを創造する至福のときを過ごすことで す。人間は自然の生命力によって培われ、深い思索が生まれるはずです。キャンパス内 には、“ 思索の庭”と呼びたいイングリッシュガーデンが広がっています。木漏れ陽の遊 歩道を散策し、樹木の香気を浴びながら森林をわたる風の声、小鳥のさえずりに耳を 傾ける。四季折々の草花を楽しみ、湖面に遊ぶ水鳥の姿に憩いと安らぎを感じれば、心 もきっと癒されることでしょう。たおやかに流れ広がる時間と空間から、育まれる深い思 索と心のゆとり。それは、日本経済大学の目指す“ 個性の伸展” に通じ、豊かな知性と 創造性を備えた個性派人間の育成に大いに寄与するでしょう。

The English Garden, home to deep thinking and quietude.
Welcome to the English Garden The English Garden has its historical roots in medieval England. Its quintessence is the achievement of happy hours that create for man his inborn feeling of peace and ease, a time and place that, while molded by men, remains natural and is founded on a love for nature and living in harmony with it. Man is sustained by the natural life around him, which cannot but give rise to deep thinking. Our English Garden opens out in the middle of the campus, a veritable garden of thought. Allow yourself to drink in the songs of the birds, the sound of the breeze in the trees, their fragrance and the dappled light coming through the boughs. The four seasons bring their different joys, whose enjoyment can be shared with the swans whose graceful movement adorns the lake. The quietude and deep thinking flow easily with the time and space spreading wide and still. It is this that can contribute greatly to the development of thecreativity and richness of thought of individualist nurtured in Japan University of Economics, which aims at the development of individuality.
